Barcelona’s rich cultural life, and his own ever-expanding collection of over 9,000 cannabis artefacts, inspired museum founder Ben Dronkers to open a second venue in an urban palace in the city’s Gothic Quarter.
In this stunning setting you can experience cannabis culture and history through paintings, photos, videos and unique items. You can see live hemp plants on the museum’s balconies during growing season, and use our photo booth to share your experience.
The museum in Barcelona is located in a breath-taking Modernista palace. The Palau Mornau is an edifice built in the 16th century and refurbished in 1908 by architect Manuel Raspall at the height of Barcelona’s Modernisme period.
In 2012 the building was completely renovated, restoring the spectacular stained glass windows, the wood flooring, and magnificent wrought ironwork to their original splendour, to hold the world’s largest collection dedicated to the cannabis plant.
This exhibition explores the crossover of two previously controversial topics: cannabis and tattoos.
On display in Barcelona.
