Terms & Conditions

All visitors to the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum are subject to these terms and conditions. Derogations are valid only if agreed in writing.

Definitions

The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum (“the museum”, “we”): business name of Hemp Museums B.V., which is the company responsible for the management and operation of the museum.

Museum space: the buildings at Oudezijds Achterburgwal 130 and 148 in Amsterdam including all areas such as the museum store, and Palau Mornau at Carrer Ample 35 in Barcelona, including all areas such as the museum store.

Visitor (“you”): anyone entering the museum space to visit an exhibition and/or attend an event.

Consumer (“you”): anyone using the Hash Museum website and other online applications, the online ticket shop or the museum store.

Museum staff: anyone representing the museum and who is identifiable as such.

Admission tickets

Article 1.1
The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum publishes admission prices through its proprietary channels, on the website, by the entrance to the museum and through direct communications. The prices listed here are subject to change and cannot be negotiated. We cannot be held responsible for (incorrect) publication of admission prices by third parties.

Article 1.2
Admission tickets can be purchased at the entrance, on the website or from one of the museum’s official resellers.

Article 1.3
A visitor will be eligible for a discounted admission fee if they meet the applicable conditions. Museum staff may ask for proof of ID for the discounted admission fee. If the visitor cannot produce a proof of ID or the proof of ID is not valid, the visitor will be charged the regular admission price.

Article 1.4
A visitor who has purchased an admission ticket will not be entitled to a refund or any kind of compensation in case of loss or theft of the ticket. Once an admission ticket has been purchased, it cannot be exchanged.

Opening hours

Article 2.1
The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum publishes its opening hours through its proprietary channels, on the website, by the entrance to the museum and through direct communications. We reserve the right to change previously published opening hours without visitors being entitled to a refund of the price paid for their admission ticket. We cannot be held responsible for (incorrect) publication of opening hours by third parties.

Article 2.2
Part of the museum space may be closed to visitors on certain occasions. Such closure will not entitle visitors to a refund of the admission price. When a substantial part of the museum space is closed to visitors, there will be a notice on the website and by the entrance, and a reduced admission fee will apply or another kind of compensation will be offered.

Visits

Article 3.1
Visitors must conduct themselves in the museum space in compliance with the standards of public order and with these regulations, while always abiding by the instructions of museum staff. Failing that, visitors may be denied access without being entitled to a refund of the admission fee or other costs incurred.

Article 3.2
Parents or supervisors of under-age children, either in organized groups or not, are responsible for the children’s behaviour.

Article 3.3
The museum space can be accessed with small rucksacks or handbags, provided these are hand-carried or worn on the front. Large backpacks, handbags or other bags are not allowed. What qualifies as large and small is at the discretion of museum staff. Visitors are not allowed to bring umbrellas into the museum. There are umbrella stands available by the entrance. The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum does not accept responsibility for damage to or loss or theft of goods left by visitors.

Article 3.4
Museum staff may ask to inspect a visitor’s bag for security reasons.

Article 3.5
Smoking, eating or drinking is not permitted in the museum space.

Article 3.6
Pets are not admitted, except for official service dogs.

Article 3.7
Visitors are liable for any damage caused by them.

Article 3.8
Visitors are allowed to take pictures, albeit without the use of flash, additional lighting and tripods.

Complaints

Article 4.1
Complaints can be submitted in writing to amsterdam@hashmuseum.com or barcelona@hashmuseum.com. We will respond to complaints within 10 working days.

Liability and force majeure

Article 5.1
Visitors enter the museum space at their own risk. The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum can only be held liable for injury to a visitor or loss or damage to the properties of a visitor if caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum. Damage or injury will be covered up to the amount for which we are insured or should in all reasonableness be insured. Possible compensation can never exceed the loss determined by the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum’s insurer. The museum can never be held liable for indirect losses or damage.

Article 5.2
Shortcomings caused by force majeure can never be attributed to the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum and will never lead to entitlement to a refund or compensation. Force majeure is a suspensive or resolutive condition for these general terms and conditions.

Museum store

Article 6.1
Consumers can purchase products at the museum store. Products displayed are sold at the indicated price, which includes VAT.

Article 6.2
Items purchased at the museum store can be exchanged by returning the product to the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum in person with the receipt within 14 days. Returns are accepted only when the products returned are intact with original brand tags, packaging and are unused without any damage, or on account of production or sales faults. The consumer will either receive a non-faulty version of the same product or a refund of the purchase price. Products cannot be returned by post.

Copyright

Article 7.1
The text, images, trademarks, data, audio files, video files and clips, and other content on the website (collectively, the ‘materials’) are proprietary to the museum or its licensors. Copyright and other proprietary rights may be held by individuals or entities other than, or in addition to, the museum.

Article 7.2
Materials the museum believes to be under copyright or other restrictions are available for limited noncommercial, educational, and personal use only. Consumers may download these files for their own use, subject to any additional terms or restrictions which may be applicable to the individual item. Consumers must, however, cite the author and source of the materials, and the citations should include the URL “hashmuseum.com”. By downloading, printing, or otherwise using materials, whether accessed directly from the website or via other sites or mechanisms, consumers agree that they will limit their use of such files to non-commercial, educational or personal use.

Article 7.3
The museum does not warrant that use of any materials displayed on the website will not infringe the rights of third parties not owned by or affiliated with the museum. For example, some works may be under copyright by the artist or the artist’s heirs holding rights to these works, or may include third-party trademarks or rights of publicity. In many instances the caption may offer more information about the rights status; such works may not be used in any form; they may not be copied or downloaded without prior permission from the holder of the underlying rights.
