A prison psychologist investigating a Mexican gang in Oakland, California falls in love with the sister of the gang leader: a beautiful girl who makes her money by selling marijuana. This is the main plot of the novel Cure It with Honey (later retitled I’ll Get Mine, 1951) by George Thurston and Jody Scott using their pseudonym Thurston Scott (a combination of both their last names). With the slogan “She loved men, money and marijuana” the book sold like hot cakes.
