Marijuana Girl

This anti-cannabis paperback dates from 1951 and was written by Robert Campbell Bragg (1918-1954), using his pseudonym N.R. De Mexico. The back cover reads: “Everywhere young girls are acquiring the dope habit. They try their first marijuana, like their first love, while in high school. Then they move on to worse. But why? Are these girls just plain bad? Do they deliberately seek depravity? Or are they helpless victims of society? Shocking answers are given in this sensitive novel about fresh and fetching Joyce Taylor, who at seventeen was ‘hooked’ – thanks to an older man.”
