Just Say No
When she entered the White House alongside her husband, president Ronald Reagan, Nancy Reagan started a war on drugs in general and on marijuana in particular. It all began in 1984 when she was visiting an elementary school in Oakland, California. A little girl raised her hand and asked: “Mrs. Reagan, what do you do if someone offers you a joint?” Without thinking twice, the First Lady of the United States responded: “Just say no. That’s all you have to do. Just say no and walk away.”
