Pancho Villa smokes a joint and sings a Bob Dylan song as he faces the firing squad. A skeleton with a machine gun saves his life and together with the Mexican revolutionaries they assault a floating Las Vegas. This is the surreal universe created by artist Paul Kirchner for his comic character Dope Rider, an ‘undead’ cowboy who loves marijuana. As Dope Rider himself states at the end of his first adventure in High Times magazine: “The best thing about being high is the view.”
